One last attempt

I made one last attempt to play in the snow with Ava. We had a big snow storm and while it was snowing I took her outside to play. She was only calm long enough for me to take these 4 pics and then she started to freak out. She would be okay as long as I was standing up holding her but if I sat in the snow she would cry and freak out. I really don't know why. She was sitting on my lap not even touching the snow but she hated it. So I guess she just doesn't like it. Too bad since it makes for cute pics. Oh well maybe next winter will be better...
You can see by the progression of the photos she goes from unsure to upset. I didn't take any when she was crying.

Finally ONE!

OFFICIALLY 1 now :) On Ava's really Birthday Feb 10th we all went to the Jazz/ Lakers game. It was fun even though the Jazz bombed it and lost by like 15 points. haha oh well.

I had her cute B-day outfit all ready so everyone would know it was her special day. We had lots of people notice and complement her.
a A funny thing happened after halftime. Well Russ had got us both hot dogs and nachos. Well we took turns holding Ava while the other person would eat. Well when we were done Russ was holding both her AND the nachos. She had showed absolutely no interest in them. Then all of a sudden she smacked the tray and chips went EVERYWHERE. Literally all over us AND WORST OF ALL on the couple sitting below us startling them I'm sure they quickly turned around wondering what it was. Luckily it was only the chips and NOT the cheese. That would have been so much worse. We apologized and blamed it on Ava haha.. kind of. We're the dummies that should've kept her away from it. The couple was so nice and understanding. We ended up talking to them a lot after that. They also had a little girl close to Ava's age and had similar stories of how their own daughter had embarrassed them. haha SOO it was all good. Next time we will keep the food FAR away.

Just daddy and Ava.
Daddy kissing and malling her. WE both just can't keep away she is JUST too cute!
Later on we gave her a chocolate cupcake and sang Happy Birthday to her AGAIN! She LOVED the chocolate. I can't believe my little peek-a-boo is already 1 wow where has the time gone. I really feel like time goes by so much more quickly now that we have her. I love every second of every day and I wouldn't trade all the poopy diapers and temper tantrums she throws for anything. I LOVE being a mommy and we love being parents. It truly is an incredible journey and every day is something memorable. She is learning more things and I am so proud of her!

First Piggy Tails!

Ava had her FIRST piggy tails!! So cute!! I just LOVE her so much!

In this pic she is doing her "Uhhh OOHHH" so fun. When ever she drops something or does something naughty thats what she does. haha silly girl :)

So Lucky our dog chases around Ava waiting for her to drop her binky. She finally did and he went for it. Ava LOVED it she was laughing SO hard. You can see her just tickled pink about it. I just had to grab my camera. Looks like Lucky has his own bink now. I'm not givin in back to her. haha (don't mind her outfit and the lone piggy tail- she had just woken up)
I guess he's jealous of all the attention the baby gets. So now he wants to be the baby. lol

Aquarium & Gateway

So back in January we took Ava to the Living Planet Aquarium in SLC. I think she liked it. It was intresting place.

After we left the Aqarium we decided to go up to Gateway and go out to eat at the Happy Sumo. Once we got there it had about a hour wait so we just walked around to all the different stores while we were waiting. It was SOO cold outside. We went into the arcade and let Ava ride this little car thing. She thought it was pretty cool. Not bad for 25 cents. haha

No more Tents!

YAY we FINALLY got a camp trailer! No more tents! Russell has been trying to talk me into it for a couple years. I guess the kicker was going camping with Ava last fall. Camping in a tent with a baby GIRL is IMPOSSIBLE! Wow what a pain. I knew after that I wanted my own space with a bathroom and running water. So we found this brand new 2010 one up at the RV show for an incredible price we just couldn't pass up. What I love about it is has a big bathroom and dark wood cabinets. I need to take an interior pics to show it better. I am so EXCITED to take it out. We already have some fun trips planned with friends.

The big 30!

On January 12, this sexy man turned 30! I love him so MUCH! Russell is most incredible husband and father. We are so LUCKY to have him! On his real birthday he worked and then had scouts. He is the leader over the wolves (8 and 9 yr old boys). SO I decided to stop by and surprise him and his pack with balloons and cupcakes! Of course the boys loved them and we all sang Happy Birthday!
We actually decided to celebrate his birthday 2 days later and we went to the Jazz/Cleveland game. It was SO much fun. It was Ava's first Jazz game and she loved it! She would clap and raise her arms when the crowd would cheer. It was so cute.

Ava was in such a great mood the whole time. And the stadium was packed full of people. Cleveland is the #1 ranked team right now. And the game ended with the JAZZ winning by 1 point. We got a 3 point shot right at the buzzer for the win! Wow so great!
I love the pic of her smiling. You can see her bottom 2 teeth.

Birthday boy and Ava and their matching blue eyes:)

Christmas

Christmas was so awesome for our little family! Having Ava just makes every holiday even more magical. She loved her gifts. We had lots to open all of us. Russell was so good to me as he is every year!

I gave her a little photo album. She really loves to point to us in the pictures. Here we are at my parents house on Christmas Eve.

Here is our TREE! Every year I say it's my favorite. And this year was no exception! We really had such a perfect full tree. I took this a few days after Christmas so there aren't any gifts under it. I usually am so good about taking one one Christmas morning but I was just so excited this year I forgot. Ava was really good about the tree. She never pulled on it or really tried to knock any of the decorations off. I was pretty impressed. I had so many people tell me horror stories about babies pulling down trees. But she was great. So we will continue to get a real tree :)`

One of her gifts was a highchair! I can't believe we went so long without one. We just used the bumbo with the tray you can get with it. Wow that thing was so annoying. It is amazing to have the highchair finally. And she absolutely loves it!

Riding her new car on Christmas morning ;)
Aww I just love her!

The car turned into a walker. Man she was so into that. She pushed that thing everywhere, banging it into the sides of everything..
One of her favorite gifts was her Ni Hao Kai-lan doll. She loves that tv show more than any other. Its on Nickjr and its so cute. She would kiss and hug the doll and if you push on the dolls tummy she says a few phrases and sings a song. Ava was pretty excited about that!
