Ear Piercing

I DID IT! Okay well I didn't actually do it, the Asst mgr of Claire's did the actual piercing. But I took her haha. :)

It all started when we got some stick on earrings about a month ago and I was so obsessed with how cute it looked that I was determined to have it done for real. The stick on ones last about 5 minutes and then fall off. But as soon as I mentioned it to Russ he was SO against it. I really didn't see why. But it all boiled down to him not wanting to intentionally inflict any pain on her. I mean when she gets her shots she hysterically bawls and cries, so naturally he was thinking that's exactly how a piecing would go.
Add Video So after CONSTANTLY discussing and begging for days he finally said he wouldn't stand in my way but he just didn't want to be there. Well over that last couple weeks I went to a bunch of mall stores that do piercings to get a feel for it and see if there was anyone I trusted to do it. I had come to the conclusion I would do it sometime in the next month or so and have my sister come with me.

Yesterday I was at the mall to pick up a baby blanket I had just bought for Ava and was having her name embroidered on it. While I was there I stopped by the jewelry store and asked to see the earrings. Well the girl was so sweet and cute and I felt she would do a great job so I went ahead quite spur of the moment in fact. I was so scared Ava would be upset and scream. But she was SOOO unbelievably well. She let the girl mark the dots and didn't even wiggle. Finally when I had to hold her down for the actual piercing, she started to fuss for a second, literally, after the first hole was done and then the girl did the second hold. Ava fussed for about 5 seconds so I hurried and gave her some apple juice and the girl held up the mirror so Ava could see herself and then everything was fine. I was so SURPRISED but so relieved that she was fine, and not hurting.

I stopped by Russell's work on the way home to show him and he thought it was cute too. But mainly cared about how she reacted to it. When I told him how good she did I think that made him like the piercing more knowing that she didn't go through too much pain. I am so glad I had it done. I think is is just so cute and girly! Now even without a bow she looks feminine and sweet. I just LOVE my little Angel!

Grandma Wadley

My Grandma Wadley died early this morning at 99 years old. She was my last living grandparent. This last Monday, my parents arranged for our family to visit her at the retirement home she was living at in order to have a family home evening with her and spend some time. They knew she wasn't doing well, and that she could go any day, and she did. I am SO grateful I had the opportunity to say goodbye and see her one last time before she passed away. Its sad, but happy too. She can finally reunite with my grandpa and 2 of her kids who died early in life before their time to go. She would always tell us how much she missed them. I know she is at peace with them now. I will miss you so much Grandma!! I love you!!!

Family

My older sister Andrea and her Family are her visiting for the summer. It's been so fun for Ava having her cute little cousins to play will. Ava just absolutly loves them. Here we are at the park.

Story Time!

Alec reading Ella and Ava a story book.

Afternoon Hike

So a couple weeks ago weeks ago we hiked up to Timp Cave in AF canyon. All the tours through the cave were full for that day but they said we could still do the hike up to it for no charge. So since we were already there and ready for a hike, up we went. It was fun, other that the poopy diaper Ava had halfway up the trail, haha.

LOVE her. She was just so happy and smiley the whole way up.

Its a long way down... no strollers allowed, now I see why :)

Stadium of Fire

On the 4Th of July we went to Stadium of Fire! It was our first time going and we all had so much fun especially Ava. She was so good the whole time, and was so attentive to everything going on. I bought her those ear muffs to block out the loud sound of the fireworks and the concert. She could still hear but it made it not loud at all, I didn't want the loud booming of the fireworks to scare her. And it didn't she did so great! Little A got so much attention from random people commenting on how cute she was in her little festive outfit and bow.

SO Ava's already chubby cheeked but the earmuffs squishes her face even more making her look even chubbier. haha

Here is Ava with her two cousins, Lauren and Ella. They are my sister Andrea's little girls. She is here visiting from Dubai. The girls love Ava and she LOVES them so much. Look at her sweet little smile. :)
All ready for the 4th, RED WHITE AND BLUE!
