Sand Dunes

Well we headed out to the White Wash sand dunes last weekend with some friends and a bunch of other new friends we met. Our trip last year around this time was the trip when Ava got hurt and we ended up in the ER. So this trip I was extra careful. But now that Ava is much older I don't have to worry as much about her in certain ways and other ways more so. If that makes any since.

The 3 hour drive there we keep entertained by watching, Tangled. Ava requests that movie at LEAST once a day. We all have it memorized now. Even Lucky loves the movie apparently. He kept jumping up in front of the screen (blocking her view so I would push him down.) Funny dog.

Just arriving and getting settled.

All Ava wanted to do was take her doggie on a walk around camp. He got a haircut the night before and Ava was even more in love with her little dog with his new shorter look.

Ava had a lot of fun playing with all the kids in our group. But most of all she was bff's with my friend's daughter Kambree. Kam kept calling Ava her "little sister". It was so cute how she would take care of her. I felt lucky to have such an attentive babysitter the whole time :)

The first night Ava woke up around 1am pulling on the fridge, hungry for a late night snack. So here she is enjoying her yogurt. I though she just looked so adorable in her piggy tails sticking straight out like Shrek. haha.

I love the way she eats. I think is so cute! She does so great too. Isn't even messy at all (thus the no bib here).

One of the families brought sleds to pull the kids in the sand. Well Ava was OBSESSED to say the least with this thing. She loved being pulled or loved pulling it herself with her stuffed animal in it. I gotta get her one for future trips.

My cute little miss.

As I said before, best friends.. Ava would do anything Kam asked her too.

Oh did I mention the weather was PERFECT the whole time. SO warm, we all walked away with great tans!

Russ brought his big remote control truck. All the kids loved it and so did the adults. Great entertainment for sure.

The last day just hanging out.

Most every family there had dogs. Ava has no fear no matter how big the dog is. (which of course worries me a bit) but luckily all the dogs there were nice and Ava was in heaven making friends with all of them.

Look what a cool place we camped it. I love this place!

One of the moms handed out Popsicles to all the kids. Ava was so happy and content. I don't usually buy them, and of course they are super messy. But she was wearing black so I let her have at it. Here she is all smiles relaxing in her chair enjoying her treat on a warm day :)

Getting on loaded up and ready to head home. We were just waiting for Russ go finish up. Until next time...

MOAB

Last weekend we went on a camping trip to Moab with my in-laws. The first camping trip of the year is always fun and this was no exception. Moab is so beautiful! Here is Ava and Cali playing when we first got to camp. Later that day we went for a hike to a waterfall. The hike was pretty interesting, walking through streams, climbing over slippery rocks and all.
It was about that time when Miss Ava needed a nap so she was a bit out of it some of the time.
Ava with her cousin, Beckham.
Like I said going through the streams. The water was pretty cold but your feel kinda go numb after a minute then its not so bad. haha. It was so gorgeous there! I love all the red rocks.
My cute little fam :)

Finally got to the waterfall. It was a bit too cold to swim in it. So we just played around for a while. Ava loved picking up and throwing lots of the small rocks.

She was brave but insisted on holding my hands at all times for moral support :)
Back at camp.
Me and my little baby.
The camp ground was pretty cool. They had a nice pool, hot tub, this huge chess set and checkers board to play.
They also had a putting green. Ava LOVED that.
Here is another hike we took. Look how cool this place is. Russ was joking around and put his head on the track and told us he heard a train 2 miles out. He was joking of course. We didn't even know if this was a track that had any train traffic. Well just a few minutes later we hear a train coming. My husband is psychic I guess. hah
I have never seen a train that close other than from inside my car waiting for one to pass in town. But this was a totally different experience. Ava was pretty impressed too!
Taking a break on our hike.
The next day we took a drive to slick rock.
Our camp spot.
Ava had lots of opportunity to ride her 4-wheeler all over during this trip so of course she was in heaven ;)

All in all we had a great trip. It was awesome to spend time with Russell's family and just relax and have fun. It is making me even more anxious and excited for summertime to finally get here. We have been have some crazy snowstorms this last week and I am so ready for it to be warm. Can't wait to take more camping trips really soon :)
